DRaaS (Disaster Recovery as a Service) is a cloud service for disaster recovery of IT infrastructure in the event of failure of the client’s main data site. Real-time replication ensures continuous operation of the client’s critical IT services.

This is a full-fledged backup virtual data center that is replicated by Veeam or VMware solutions.

GigaCloud DRaaS strengths

Instant recovery

The main difference between Disaster Recovery and the regular backup service (BaaS) is the speed of data recovery. In DRaaS it is done in a matter of a few minutes.

High accessibility and security

Our cloud infrastructure meets all the requirements for information security, has international certificates ISO / IEC 27001, ISO/IEC 27701, PCI DSS, and is GDPR-compliant. The service is available constantly, with SLA 99.95%.

Downtime reduction

15 minutes instead of 5 hours is the time required to restore the full functioning of the IT system after a crash (RTO). The value of RTO depends on the client’s chosen method of implementing DRaaS.

Constant testing

We test out the system, so that when it is really needed, it definitely works.

How GigaCloud DRaaS works

01.

A “mirrored” copy of all critical IT services is created 24/7.

02.

The reserved infrastructure is ready to restore services around the clock.

03.

Constant synchronisation of replicated copies and their connectivity is ensured.

04.

In case of force majeure, the workload is quickly switched to the reserved resources.

More on GigaCloud DRaaS

Veeam Cloud Connect solution

The Veeam Cloud Connect software solution helps you set up replication in the service provider’s cloud and switch to replicas in the event of a crash on the main site. With this software solution, you can implement Disaster Recovery for infrastructure that is both in the cloud and on the hardware.

VMware tools

Software solutions by VMware, the leading virtualization provider, which help clients to replicate their virtual machines between different sites by themselves.

RPO (Recovery point objective)

The point in time in the past up to which the data is restored. The value of RPO is chosen by the customer, and it determines the possible amount of data loss. At the same time, two factors are taken into account: the permissible volume of data loss and the relevance of information. The parameter is affected by the replicas synchronization frequency.

RTO (Recovery time objective)

Time allocated for data recovery, i.e. allowable downtime. If we assume RPO = 15 and RTO = 10, then the maximum possible data loss will be the last 15 minutes, and the data will be restored within 10 minutes.
